I'm on my school's debate team, and today, after about 3 practices for us newbies, we went to our first competition. Huge amounts of stress, but there is a bright side.

.... ME AND MY PARTNER GOT FIRST PLACE IN JV!!!!!

I'm really super excited right now

My partner was really cool. He's usually a varsity debater, but he ended up helping me with my newbie debate and he was really cool about helping/bailing me out. He totally earned that 1st place medal for Individual Speaker.

How awesome! It takes a lot of guts to get up there and speak.

I'm in a Speech League, it's like debates only it's rehearsed pieces of poetry and literature and things like that.

My school has that, but it's only in foreign languages.
